The Department of Physics at Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, is proud to be an integral part of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) in Geneva. Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Physics OR M.Sc. in Electronics with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade.

Desirable Qualifications

1. Knowledge of electronics and instrumentation.
2. Familiarity with particle detectors and related technologies.
3. Proficiency in programming (Python, C/C++).

Additional Benefits for NET/GATE Qualified Candidates

• Candidates with UGC-CSIR NET or GATE qualification will receive Rs. 37,000 + HRA instead of Rs. 25,000.

Pay Scale

• Non-NET/GATE Candidates: Rs. 25,000 + HRA per month
• NET/GATE Qualified Candidates: Rs. 37,000 + HRA per month

Selection Process

1. Screening of Applications: Based on academic records and qualifications.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview (may be conducted online/offline).
3. Final Selection: Grounded on interview performance and felicity for the design.
