Mumbai Port Authority Recruitmrnt 2025 : Apply for Chief Engineer (HoD) Post

The Mumbai Port Authority has announced a recruitment notification for the post of Chief Engineer (Head of Department – HoD). This position is to be filled through absorption via the composite method from eligible officers of Major Port Authorities. This role puts you at the helm of transformative port projects, where every blueprint you approve and piling you monitor strengthens national maritime capabilities.

Note: After 3 years of regular service, the selected candidate may be eligible for a higher pay scale upon approval.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• Degree or fellow in Civil Engineering from a honored university/ institution.

Experience Required

• 17 years of experience in an executive role in planning, construction, design, or maintenance (preferably in port and marine structures) in industrial, commercial, or government organizations.

Pay Scale Requirement for Absorption

• Officers presently working in the pay scale of Rs. 80,000 – 2,20,000 with 3 times of regular service in the Civil Engineering Department of Major Port Authorities are eligible.

APAR Grading Requirement

• The candidate must have an overall grading of “Very Good” or above in their Annual Performance Assessment Reports (APARs) for the last 5 years (2019-2024).

Selection Process

1. Screening of Applications – Based on eligibility and submitted documents.
2. Merit-Based Selection – Evaluation of APARs, experience, and qualifications.
3. Final Appointment – Subject to vigilance and administrative clearance.

Note: Candidates who withdraw after selection will be debarred from future HoD-level posts for 2 years.

How to Apply

1. Online Application Portal (OAP):
   • Visit the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways website.
   • Register and fill out the application form between 13th June 2025 to 14th July 2025.
2. Submission of Hard Copy:
   • Take a printout of the submitted application.
   • Submit it through the administrative Port along with the following documents:
     • Certified copies of APARs (last 5 years)
     • Educational and experience certificates
     • No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current Port
     • Vigilance and administrative clearance
     • Two passport-size photographs
3. Forwarding by Administrative Port:
   • The respective Port Authority must forward the application to Mumbai Port Authority before 29th July 2025.

Key Points to Remember

• No application fee is required.
• Incomplete or late applications will be rejected.
• Advance copies of applications must be followed by proper channel submission within 15 days.
• Alert concurrence and APARs must be submitted at the foremost for consideration.
