IRCTC Group General Manager (Catering) Recruitment 2025: Deputation Vacancy Notification
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. IRCTC has released a vacancy notification for the post of Group General Manager (Catering) to be filled on a deputation basis. The position is based at the IRCTC Corporate Office in New Delhi and is open to eligible Group ‘A’ officers of Indian Railways (excluding IRPFS and IRHS). This is a senior-level post (E8 level) involving leadership responsibilities in policy, operations, and coordination in catering services.

Pay Scale / Salary
- Parent Pay + Deputation Allowance
- Eligible officers will draw pay in their current pay level, along with deputation allowance and other admissible perks as per IRCTC policy.
Eligible Pay Levels:
- Pay Scale: Rs. Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 with a Grade Pay of Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000 under the 6th CPC or Level 14 as per the 7th CPC.
OR - Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 + GP Rs. 8,700 (6th CPC) / Level 13 (7th CPC) with minimum 3 years of service
Eligibility Criteria
Service Requirements:
- Officers belonging to Group ‘A’ Railway Services, excluding IRPFS and IRHS, are eligible.
- Must be currently serving in eligible pay grades (Level 13 or 14)
Desirable Experience:
- Experience in Indian Railways’ Commercial Department
- Preference for officers with IT exposure
- Relevant experience in catering, hospitality, mobile catering units, or policy-level coordination will be considered
Job Role and Responsibilities
The selected officer will be responsible for overseeing catering activities and strategy from IRCTC’s Corporate Office, including:
- Supervision of mobile catering units and base kitchens
- Planning and executing new catering projects and digital initiatives
- Formulating policies and ensuring coordination with the Railway Board
- Monitoring quality, compliance, and vendor operations
- Supporting customer service enhancement and grievance redressal
