The Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL), a premier power generation company under the Gujarat Electricity Board, has officially released a notification for the recruitment of Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Engineer) for the year 2025. GSECL is inviting online applications from young and energetic engineering graduates to join its ranks and contribute to the state’s power sector.

This recruitment drive aims to fill 135 vacancies across various engineering streams including Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation & Control, and Electronics & Communication. The appointment will be on a fixed tenure basis, with the opportunity for regularization upon successful completion of the initial period.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a full-time B.E./B.Tech. degree in the relevant engineering discipline from a recognized university/institution approved by UGC/AICTE.

• Minimum 55% marks in the 7th and 8th semesters (no ATKT allowed).
• Candidates must submit an equivalence certificate from the competent authority if the degree title differs from the required discipline.

Fixed Remuneration

• 1st Year: Rs. 48,100/- per month
• 2nd Year: Rs. 50,700/- per month

Note: No additional allowances will be provided. TA/DA reimbursement as per GSO-333.

Career Progression

• Initially appointed for two years as Vidyut Sahayak (Junior Engineer).
• Upon satisfactory performance, may be regularized in the pay scale of Rs. 45,400 – 1,01,200/-.

Age Limit (As on 01 July 2025)

• Unreserved Category: 35 years
• Reserved & EWS Categories: 40 years

Age Relaxation:

• PwD: 10 years
• Female Candidates: 5 years
• Ex-Armed Forces: 10 years
• Dependents of retired GUVNL employees can apply if they are not older than 40 years.

Reservation & Roster

Reservation for SC, ST, SEBC, EWS, PwD, and Female candidates as per GUVNL and GoG guidelines. Specific PwD categories eligible based on stream.

Required Skills

Selection Process

1st Tier Examination (Computer-Based Test)

• Total Marks: 100
• Qualifying Marks:
  • UR: 50 marks
  • Reserved Categories: 45 marks

2nd Tier Examination (CBT)

• Only those who qualify the 1st tier will be invited.
• The second-tier test will also be for 100 marks.
• The overall merit list will be prepared based on the total aggregated marks.

Medium of Exam: English and Gujarati
