Haryana Superior Judicial Service Recruitment 2025: Apply for Additional District & Sessions Judge Posts

The High Court of Punjab and Haryana, based in Chandigarh, has officially announced the Haryana Superior Judicial Service Recruitment 2025, calling for applications to the post of Additional District & Sessions Judge. A total of 25 vacancies are open under the 25% direct recruitment quota, specifically for practicing advocates from the Bar. Pay Scale

Successful applicants will be designated under Pay Matrix Level J-5, starting with a monthly salary of ₹1,44,840. The pay scale is subject to revision by the Haryana Government from time to time.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational and Professional Qualifications

To be eligible for direct recruitment:

  1. Citizenship: Candidate must be a citizen of India.
  2. Enrollment as Advocate: Must be a duly enrolled Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961.
  3. Experience: Should have practiced law for at least 7 years continuously as of the cut-off date.
  4. Income Criteria:
    • General category candidates must have a gross professional income of ₹5 lakh per annum in each of the three years preceding the application.
    • Reserved category candidates (SC, ST, BC, EWS, PwBD, ESM) must have at least ₹3 lakh per annum.
  5. Case Handling Experience:
    • General: Must have independently handled 50 cases per year for the last three years (excluding bunch cases).
    • Reserved: Must have handled 40 such cases per year.
  6. Computer Skills: Applicants must have basic knowledge of using computer applications.
  7. Language Requirement: Must have passed Matric with Hindi as a subject or equivalent qualification.

Disqualifications

Candidates will be disqualified if:

  • They have more than one spouse living (unless exempted by the Governor).
  • They were dismissed or removed from any Government, High Court, or statutory body.
  • They were convicted of any offence involving moral turpitude.
  • They were debarred from exams or interviews by a recruiting agency.
  • They were found guilty of professional misconduct under the Advocates Act.

Reservation Guidelines

  • Reservations apply only to bona fide residents of Haryana.
  • Candidates claiming reservation must provide latest domicile and category certificates.
  • For BC category, certificates must be issued between 01.04.2025 and 31.07.2025.
  • EWS, SC, BC, PwBD, and ESM candidates must follow the latest instructions from the Haryana Government.

How to Apply

Eligible candidates should apply only through offline mode using the prescribed application format. The filled-in form must be submitted by 31 July 2025 (till 5:00 PM) as follows:

Submission Routes:

  1. Bar Members of Punjab, Haryana & U.T. Chandigarh:
    • Submit the completed form to the office of the District & Sessions Judge in your respective district. The Judge will forward it to the High Court.
  2. Government Employees:
    • Submit the application to the Head of Department. It will then be forwarded to the High Court.
  3. All Other Applicants:
    • Submit directly to the Registrar (Recruitment) through the Co-ordination Branch, High Court of Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh.
  • The envelope should be superscribed with: “Application for the post of Additional District & Sessions Judge in the State of Haryana”
  • Applications that are either incomplete or received beyond the closing date will be summarily rejected.
