The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has released a recruitment circular inviting applications The positions of General Manager and Deputy General Manager will be filled through deputation, which may also include a short-term contract arrangement. These roles offer exciting opportunities for experienced professionals working in government departments, PSUs, autonomous bodies, and other eligible organizations to contribute to the promotion and development of India’s processed food and agricultural exports.

Salary / Pay Scale
- General Manager: Falls under Pay Level-12 as per the 7th CPC, with a remuneration band of ₹78,800 to ₹2,09,200.
- Deputy General Manager: Placed in Pay Level-11 under the 7th CPC framework, entitled to a salary bracket of ₹67,700 to ₹2,08,700.
- Selected candidates may opt for pay with deputation (duty) allowance or have their pay fixed in the post’s pay level as per DoPT guidelines.
Eligibility Criteria
For General Manager (Deputation Basis)
- Officials working in Central or State Governments, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, Universities, or Autonomous/Statutory Bodies:
- Holding analogous posts OR
- 5 years of regular service in Pay Level-11.
- Educational Qualification:
- Postgraduate degree in disciplines such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Food Technology, International Business, Foreign Trade, Finance, MBA (Finance), or Chartered Accountancy from ICAI.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant fields post-qualification.
For Deputy General Manager (Deputation Basis)
- Officials working in Central or State Governments, Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, Universities, or Autonomous/Statutory Bodies:
- Holding analogous posts OR
- 5 years of regular service in Pay Level-10.
- Educational Qualification & Experience:
- Same as that for General Manager.
Preferred: Candidates with published research papers in relevant international journals will be given preference.
