The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) has officially released a notification inviting online applications from eligible Indian citizens for the post of Forest Ranger under the Environment & Forests Department, Assam. This recruitment is conducted as per the Assam Forest Manual and the Government of India’s revised training rules for Forest Ranger Officers. Selected candidates will undergo in-service forestry training at a recognized institute designated by the Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India.

Pay Scale

Selected candidates will receive the following pay as per Assam State Government rules:

• Pay Band: ₹22,000 – ₹97,000
• Grade Pay: ₹10,300
• Pay Level: PB-3
• Additional Allowances: As admissible by the State Government

Eligibility Criteria

1. Nationality & Domicile

• The candidate must hold permanent residency status in Assam.
• Must upload one of the following:
  • Permanent Residence Certificate (PRC), or
  • Employment Exchange Registration Certificate
• Assam Government employees must upload a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department.

2. Educational Qualification

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Engineering with at least one of the following subjects:

• Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry
• Computer Applications / Computer Science
• Engineering (Agriculture, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical)
• Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture
• Mathematics, Physics, Statistics
• Veterinary Science, Zoology
