DRDO CEMILAC Consultant Recruitment 2025 for Retired Government Officials

The Centre for Military Airworthiness and Certification (CEMILAC), a prominent laboratory of the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) in Bengaluru, has released a recruitment notification (No. CEMILAC/5921/HRD/MPM (Retd), dated 17 June 2025) inviting experienced retired officials to join as Consultants on a short-term contract basis. 2. Introduction

CEMILAC plays a pivotal role in ensuring the airworthiness certification of military platforms within DRDO. Contract Tenure

  • Initial Term: 1 year
  • Extension: Possible for a second year, subject to approval

Age Limit

  • Retired applicants must not exceed 63 years as of the cut-off date (07 July 2025).

Remuneration & Conveyance Allowance

Remuneration is calculated based on previous pay and pension status:

  • Pensioners: Difference between last drawn pay and pension, plus conveyance (₹5,000 for Levels 12-13A, ₹3,000 for Level 11)
  • NPS retirees will receive 70% of their last basic pay along with a conveyance allowance.
  • Non-Pensioners (PSUs): Fixed consolidated remuneration depending on level (₹50,000 for Level 11, ₹60,000 for Levels 12-13A) plus same conveyance rates

4. Eligibility Criteria

General Conditions

  • Applicants must be retired personnel from Central or State Governments, Public Sector Undertakings, autonomous institutions, universities, or government research and development organizations.
  • Preference extended to individuals with DRDO experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with interpersonal effectiveness.

Technical Roles

  • Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics Experts: Technical engineering degree required.
  • Materials/Polymers/Textiles: B.E. in Material Science; M.Tech or equivalent preferred.
  • Aeronautical Engineers: B.E./B.Tech in Aeronautical or Mechanical; M.Tech desirable.

Specific role expertise ranges from airworthiness testing, structural analysis, material selection, to system certification for aeronautical platforms like LCA and Mirage series.

Admin Roles

  • Minimum Qualification: Graduation; higher degree a plus.
  • Experience in CCS rules, General Financial Rules, service book maintenance, and financial documentation (e.g., pension, tax, salary bills).

5. Job Responsibilities

Technical Consultants

  • Certification of propulsion, avionics, structural, and polymer systems.
  • Preparation of technical specifications, qualification test matrices, structural analysis, and avionics testing.
  • Review and documentation of test results, system integration, and design validation.

Administrative Consultants

  • Handling personnel records, pension and pay fixation entries.
  • Drafting office orders, circulars, correspondence, and processing of promotions/retirements.
  • Managing accounts: monthly expenditure reports, cash books, budget forecasts, tax filings, and bill processing.

8. Selection Process
