Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

  • Project Scientist: Ph.D. in a relevant field (Geology, Geophysics, or related discipline) from a recognized institution.
  • Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Master’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or Earth Sciences with NET/GATE qualification.
  • Project Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field.

Experience:

  • Relevant research experience in Himalayan geology, field studies, and laboratory techniques is desirable.
  • Candidates with prior experience in geological mapping, geochemical analysis, and geophysical data interpretation will be given preference.

Age Limit:

  • As per WIHG recruitment norms, with relaxations for reserved categories as per Government of India regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Candidates selected for these positions will be responsible for:

  • Conducting field research and geological surveys in the Himalayas.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting geological, geochemical, and geophysical data.
  • Assisting in research projects related to Himalayan geology and geodynamics.
  • Preparing reports, scientific papers, and presentations based on research findings.
  • Collaborating with national and international researchers in multidisciplinary studies.

The selection process will be conducted through walk-in interviews at WIHG. Candidates will be assessed based on their educational qualifications, research experience, and performance in the interview.
