IIT Gandhinagar 2025: Trainee Positions in Civil, ECE/Mechanical & Horticulture

The Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) has announced an exciting opportunity for young and dynamic Diploma/Degree graduates to join as Trainees in the Institute Works Department (IWD). This one-year temporary training program offers hands-on experience in Civil, Electrical/Mechanical, and Horticulture domains. Selected candidates will gain practical exposure while contributing to the institute’s infrastructure and maintenance operations.

Vacancy Details

IIT Gandhinagar is recruiting for three trainee positions in different disciplines:

1. Trainee – Civil Engineering
2. Trainee – Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
3. Trainee – Horticulture

Each role involves day-to-day monitoring, maintenance, reporting, and technical assistance in their respective fields.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

• For Civil & Electrical/Mechanical Trainees:
  • 3-year Diploma or 4-year Degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (2025 pass-outs only).
• For Horticulture Trainee:
  • B.Sc. in Agriculture/Forestry or related discipline (2025 pass-outs only).

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 25 years (as of 1 June 2025).

Desirable Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD (for Civil/Electrical/Mechanical), and project management tools.
• Basic knowledge of horticulture practices (for Horticulture role).
• Good communication skills in Hindi and English.

Pay Scale

• Monthly Stipend: ₹18,000 – ₹25,000 (based on qualifications).
• No additional allowances will be provided.

Selection Process

1. Shortlisting based on application details.
2. Interview (in-person or online, as decided by the institute).
3. No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
