Eligibility Criteria

Age Requirements

  • Birth Date Range: 2 July 2005 to 2 January 2009
  • Maximum Age at Enrollment: 21 years

Marital Status

  • Only unmarried candidates eligible
  • Must undertake not to marry during 4-year service period
  • Female candidates must declare not to get pregnant during service

Educational Qualifications

Science Stream Candidates

  • 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics, and English (50% aggregate & 50% in English)
  • OR 3-year engineering diploma (50% marks)
  • OR 2-year vocational course with Physics & Maths (50% marks)

Non-Science Stream Candidates

  •  10+2 qualification in any discipline with minimum 50% overall marks and 50% in English.
  • OR 2-year vocational course (50% marks)

Physical Standards

Height Requirements

  • Male: Minimum 152 cm
  • Female: Minimum 152 cm (147 cm for North East/hilly areas, 150 cm for Lakshadweep candidates).

Medical Fitness

  • Normal vision (correctable to 6/6)
  • No history of LASIK/PRK surgery
  • Good hearing and dental health
  • No offensive tattoos

Monthly Compensation

  • 1st Year: ₹30,000
  • 2nd Year: ₹33,000

Selection Process

Phase 1: Online Examination

  • Science Stream: Physics, Maths, English (60 minutes)
  • Non-Science Stream: English, Reasoning, General Awareness (45 minutes)
  • Negative Marking: 0.25 deduction per wrong answer

Phase 2: Physical Tests

  • 1.6 km Run:
    • Men: Under 7 minutes
    • Women: Under 8 minutes
  • Physical Drills: Push-ups, sit-ups, squats
  • Adaptability Tests: Psychological evaluation

Phase 3: Medical Examination

  • Comprehensive health checkup
  • Appeal option for temporarily unfit candidates
