LPAI Recruitment 2025: Vacancies on Deputation Basis for Various Posts at Secretariat & ICPs

The Land Ports Authority of India (LPAI), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, has invited applications for the recruitment of eligible officers on a deputation (foreign service) basis. The vacancies are to be filled at the LPAI Secretariat in New Delhi and across various Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) located along India’s international land borders. Officers currently working in Central/State Government, Union Territories, Autonomous Bodies, or Statutory Bodies are eligible to apply.

Note: Vacancies are liable to increase or decrease based on administrative requirements. Posting at any ICP such as Attari, Jogbani, Raxaul, Agartala, Dawki, Petrapole, Moreh, Rupaidiha, Sabroom, Sutarkandi, Dera Baba Nanak, Srimantpur, Mankachar, Darranga, Golakganj may occur as per need.

Age Limit

• Maximum age limit for deputation: 56 years as of the last date of application (10.07.2025)
• For short-term contract (retired officers): Must be below 65 years of age

Eligibility Criteria (Deputation Basis)

1. Manager/Port Administrator (Level-11)

• Officers from Central/State Govt./UT/Autonomous/Statutory Bodies
• Holding:
  • Analogous posts OR
  • 5 years’ service in Level-10 OR
  • 8 years in Level-8
• Experience: 5 years in planning, administration, HR, finance, vigilance, etc.
• Desirable: Master’s degree in Management

2. Private Secretary (Level-7)

• Holding analogous post OR 5 years’ service in Level-6
• Five years’ service as a Private Secretary in a government or autonomous organization.

3. Junior Engineer (Civil/Electrical) (Level-6)

• Holding analogous post OR 5 years in Level-5
• 3 years’ experience in civil/electrical engineering, construction monitoring

4. Personal Assistant (Level-6)

• Holding analogous post OR 6 years in Level-5 OR 10 years in Level-4 (as Steno D)
• 5 years’ experience in secretarial work, office management, communication

5. Assistant (Level-6)

• Holding analogous post OR 6 years in Level-5
• 3 years’ experience in admin, HR, finance in government/autonomous bodies

Eligibility for Short-Term Contract (If No Deputation Available)

Where suitable officers are not available on deputation, retired officers from similar posts below 65 years of age may be considered on a short-term contract of six months, extendable if needed. Remuneration will be as per Central Government rules.

Salary / Pay Scale

• As per 7th CPC Pay Matrix levels applicable to each post:
  • Level 6: ₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 (approx.)
  • Level 7: ₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400 (approx.)
  • Level 11: ₹67,700 – ₹2,08,700 (approx.)

Selection Process

• Based on deputation eligibility, experience, and service record
• Final selection will be done after scrutiny of APARs (last 5 years), Vigilance Clearance, and Integrity Certificate

Other Conditions

• Deputation is initially for 5 years, extendable up to 7 years with annual review
• Basic computer proficiency is mandatory for posts of Level-7 and below
• Appointed individuals shall not be eligible to seek regularization or permanent placement within LPAI.
