The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India, has invited applications from eligible officers for the post of Deputy Commissioner (Forestry) on deputation (including short-term contract) basis. Salary (Pay Scale):
- Pay Level: Level-12 in the Pay Matrix
- Salary Range: ₹78,800 to ₹2,09,200 per month
- Additional allowances as per Government of India rules
Eligibility Criteria:
A. Service Conditions:
The applicant should be an officer presently serving in any of the following organizations:
- Central Government
- State Government
- Union Territories
- Recognized Universities or Research Institutes
- Statutory or Autonomous Organizations
- Public Sector Undertakings
The officer must:
- Must be holding a comparable post on a regular footing.
OR - Have 5 years of regular service in posts in Pay Level-11 in the Pay Matrix or equivalent in the parent department.
B. Educational Qualifications and Experience:
Essential Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in one of the following disciplines:
- Statistics
- Operations Research
- Forestry
- Economics (with Statistics)
- Mathematics (with Statistics)
- Agriculture (with Statistics)
OR
- Two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management from a recognized university/institute
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in formulation and processing of forestry or agricultural programs.
Period of Deputation:
- The cumulative period of deputation, encompassing short-term contracts and previous deputation tenures, shall not surpass four years.

Attach Supporting Documents:

- Up-to-date Confidential Reports/Annual Performance Appraisal Reports (CRs/APARs) for the last 5 years
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate
- Integrity Certificate
- Information on any major or minor penalties incurred over the past 10 years.

Key Notes:
- Officers from non-Government organizations are only eligible for short-term contract, not absorption.
- Deputation will be governed by DOP&T guidelines as amended from time to time.
- All India Service Liability applies.
- Candidates should not be older than 56 years as of the closing date for application submission.
- Incomplete or late applications will not be entertained.
