The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has released a notification for the engagement of Law Research Associates (LRAs) on a contractual basis in its Guwahati and Kolkata Benches. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Graduate in Law (LLB – 3 years or 5-year integrated course) with minimum 50% marks from a recognized university/college.
- Candidates must have passed all exams within the course duration.
- Final-year law students (5th year of 5-year LLB or 3rd year of 3-year LLB) can apply, provided they submit proof of qualification before joining.
- LLM graduates are eligible if they have completed their degree within the last two years.
Age Limit
- Maximum Age: 30 years (as of 18th July 2025).
Skills Required
- Strong legal research and analytical skills.
- Expert navigation of digital jurisprudence tools—Manupatra’s Indian case law, SCC Online’s precedents, LexisNexis’ global statutes, Westlaw’s analytical frameworks—is non-negotiable.
- Knowledge of Company Law, IBC (Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code), and corporate laws.
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, legal research tools).
Disqualifications
- Candidates already engaged in another job/honorarium-based assignment are not eligible.
- Those with pending criminal cases or disciplinary proceedings before the Bar Council will be disqualified.
Pay Scale
- Monthly Remuneration: ₹60,000/- (fixed, no additional benefits).
Selection Process
The selection will be based on:
- Written Examination (if required, based on the number of applicants).
- Interview – Assessing knowledge of:
- Companies Act, 2013
- Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), 2016
- Legal research and analytical skills
- General legal awareness
Note:
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the selection process.
