OPSC Recruitment 2025 : Veterinary Assistant Surgeon & Addl. Veterinary Assistant Surgeon

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced a recruitment drive for 506 vacancies for the posts of Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS) and Additional Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (Addl. VAS) under the Fisheries & Animal Resources Development (F&ARD) Department. This is a great opportunity for eligible candidates to secure a Group A (Junior Branch-II) position in the Odisha Veterinary Service.

Selected candidates will be placed in Pay Level 12, Cell-1 of the Odisha Revised Scale of Pay (ORSP) with a basic salary of ₹56,100/-, along with additional allowances as per government norms.

Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

• Minimum Age: 21 years
• Maximum Age: 42 years

Age Relaxation:

• 5 years for SEBC/SC/ST/Women/Ex-Servicemen
• 10 years for PwD candidates
• 15 years for PwD candidates belonging to SEBC/SC/ST

Educational Qualification

• Eligible candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university or institution.
• Foreign degree holders must submit a conversion certificate recognized by the Veterinary Council of India (VCI).
• Valid Registration Certificate under the Odisha Veterinary interpreters Act, 1970( Section 21).

Pay Scale

• Introductory Pay: ₹ 56,100/-( position 12, Cell- 1 as per ORSP Rules, 2017)
• Additional Benefits: Dearness Allowance (DA), HRA, and other government allowances.

Shortlisting Criteria:
