Position Details

Important Date

• Closing Date to Apply: Within 30 days from the date of issue of the vacancy notification.

Term of Appointment

• Deputation: The initial period of deputation will be three years, extendable or till RCIL is exempted from the rule of immediate absorption—whichever comes earlier.
• Re-employment: The term is subject to management discretion, depending on the requirement of work.

Age Criteria (As on the Closing Date)

• For deputation, the applicant’s age must not be more than 56 years.
• For re-employment, the candidate must be under 62 years of age and should have either retired or resigned from Indian Railways.

Pay Scale & Allowances

• On Deputation: Parent grade pay along with deputation allowance as per prevailing rules.
• On Re-employment: DPE pay scales and allowances applicable to the level of selection will be provided in accordance with RailTel’s re-employment terms and conditions.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility based on the mode of appointment:

For Deputation:

• Officers in Junior Scale (Level-10) or
• Officers from Group ‘B’ in Level-9/8, or
• Serving in Level-8 under MACP scheme in 7th CPC.

For Re-employment:

• Retired/resigned officers from the above-mentioned grades are eligible to apply.

Job Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be entrusted with a wide range of technical and managerial duties, including but not limited to:

• Overseeing Operation & Maintenance (O&M) activities.
• Coordination with multiple agencies, including Indian Railways.
• Handling project implementation and RailWire operations.
• Executing and managing tender processes.
• Planning and supervising the execution of various S&T (Signal & Telecom) related tenders.
• Performing any other work assigned by the management.

This role demands an officer with a proactive approach, strong coordination skills, and deep domain knowledge in railway signaling, telecom systems, and project management.
