RITES Limited Recruitment 2025: Addl. General Manager (Mechanical) Post on Deputation Basis
RITES Limited, a premier Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has invited applications for the post of Additional General Manager (Mechanical) on a deputation basis. This opportunity is open to eligible officers from the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), currently serving in the Junior Administrative Grade (JAG).
The selected officer will be posted at RITES headquarters in Gurugram, with responsibilities related to mechanical engineering consultancy, rolling stock, inspection services, and high-level project coordination. Pay Scale and Benefits:
- Pay Level: Level-12 (as per 7th CPC)
- Salary Range: ₹78,800 – ₹2,09,200
- Officers on deputation will receive parent cadre pay plus deputation allowance and other perks as per applicable Railway Board and PSU deputation norms.
Eligibility Criteria:
Service Eligibility:
- Must be an IRSME officer holding the Junior Administrative Grade (JAG).
- Should not be more than 57 years of age on the last date of application.
Educational Qualification:
- Should possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Officers with additional qualifications such as M.Tech., MBA, or related certifications will be given additional weightage during the selection process.
Desirable Experience:
- Relevant experience in the following domains is preferred:
- Rolling stock operations or maintenance
- Railway workshop management
- Equipment inspection
- Project execution
- Coordination with clients and stakeholder organizations
Tenure of Deputation:
- The initial deputation period is three years, which may be extended based on performance and RITES’ requirements.
Selection Criteria:
Candidates will be evaluated out of 100 marks based on the following weighted parameters:

How to Apply:
Step 1: Online Registration

- Save or print this application for further submission.
Step 2: Advance Copy Submission
- An advance copy of the completed application along with CV should be emailed immediately to:

Step 3: Forwarded Application (Mandatory)
- The complete application must be forwarded through proper channel by the officer’s Zonal Railway/Ministry, along with:
- Duly filled Annexure-II application form
- Duly verified copies of APARs/CRs for the last five years, authenticated by a Group ‘A’ officer.
- Vigilance and D&A clearance certificates
- Proof of current post and pay level
- Statement of major/minor penalties, if any
The forwarded application should reach RITES within 45 days from the date of issue of the vacancy notice.
Applications received after the due date, or without complete documents, will not be considered.
General Instructions:
- As per Railway Board Letters dated 08 February 2023 and 13 April 2023, applications must be sent to Railway Board at least 7 days prior to the last date to obtain approval from the Competent Authority.
- The vacancy notice should be given wide publicity, including publication on railway websites.
- No request for extension of time or reconsideration of incomplete/late applications will be entertained.
- Officers with a clean vigilance record and solid APAR performance will be preferred.
