The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), a statutory body under the Ministry of Communications, Government of India, has invited applications for the post of Principal Advisor at its Headquarters in New Delhi. Salary Details

• Pay Level: Level-15 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix

• Allowances: Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and other admissible benefits as per Government of India rules

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:

• Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering from a recognized university.

Experience:

• Substantial work experience in the telecommunications sector, particularly in policy, regulatory, or operational aspects of telecom services.

Service Requirements:

The applicant must be an officer from:

• Central Government, or
• Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), or
• Statutory and Autonomous Bodies of the Government of India

They must meet one of the following service criteria:

1. Currently serving in an equivalent position in Pay Level-15 on a regular basis; or
2. Having four years of regular service in Pay Level-14; OR
3. Having twenty-one years of regular Group ‘A’ service with at least four years in Level-14

Selection Process

• Mode of Selection: Deputation
• Assessment Procedure: Candidates will be evaluated based on their eligibility, service records (APARs), vigilance status, and professional background in telecom.
• Final selection will be made by the Civil Services Board (CSB) under the DoPT.

3. Vigilance clearance certificate
4. Cadre clearance from the present employer
5. A cover letter (optional but recommended) indicating willingness and suitability for the post
